Climbing

So you’d like to try climbing some of those Geopark rocks?

Well – the Old Red Sandstone rocks make for spectacular mountain scenery but they do not lend themselves to rock climbing. On the other hand, the Carboniferous Limestone appears as a series of crags near the Geopark’s southern edge.  There are numerous recognised rock climbs at such places as Dinas Rock at Pontneddfechan.

The best way to get to grips with these cliffs is to get in touch with those who are already enjoying them in a responsible way.  You could consider joining one of the local climbing clubs or booking on a climbing course with a local adventure sports provider.
